Tires are among the most important components of your automobile. Having the right tires and keeping them in the best shape will boost your fuel efficiency and keep you safe. An important thing that Gengras Volvo wants all drivers to know is how to read and understand the tire size information on the side of your tires.

The tire size "number" actually starts with a letter, such as "P." This tells you what type of tire it is, with "P" denoting it's a passenger car tire. The next three numbers are the tires width in millimeters, and the two numbers that follow after a slash are the aspect ratio. The aspect ratio is followed by another letter, which represents the tires construction. For example, an "R" means its a radial tire. The next number denotes wheel diameter, which is followed by the load index and then a final letter designating the tires speed rating.
