Hydroplaning is dangerous, there are no two ways about it. However, it is something that almost all of us have to deal with at some point in time. Wouldn’t it be nice to be equipped to deal with it rather than scared of what it means?

As little as ten minutes of light rain can cause a road to become wet enough for a vehicle to start to hydroplane. Under those conditions, it is a good idea to slow down your vehicle as much as possible. The worst thing you can do is speed through on the roads under these conditions.

You need to be very conservative about using your brakes when on roads that have sloppy or rainy conditions. It is dangerous to slam on the brakes too vigorously, and there is just no reason to put yourself in that position. Instead, take control of the vehicle and steer it to safety.
