The fully color-coordinated exterior is the biggest visual change on the redesigned Volvo XC90. This changes the proportions of the car, giving it a lower appearance and sleeker exterior.

Another significant change is to the Volvo Service Intervals which are performed every 10,000 miles. This will increase from the now standard 7,500 miles for model year 2012 XC90s. Related to this change, all Volvos will now use full synthetic motor oil.
